The South West Head & Neck Support Group (SWHN) is made up of patients, both having treatment and those that have finished, their friends, family members and healthcare professionals. We are all based in the south west of England (UK) and we are here to help.

Our Mission

To ensure that all patients (past and present) under the remit of Head & Neck within the South West of England have a friendly group of people they can meet with to discuss their treatments, share tips and information, have fun and most of all make new friends. Sometimes, it's just nice not to talk about it and that's fine too. No one is pressured to stay or leave, conversation is open and frank and attendance isn't necessary. We would love to build an ever growing and changing group of people, who help one another to deal with and get through their personal treatments and recovery.

Over the coming year, we will make efforts to raise awareness of Head & Neck issues in and around the South West. We hope to encourage members, their friends and families, staff and students of the hospitals to raise money for the group, to help fund extra equipment, information, support and group outings.

To meet with other people who have shared a similar experience to me is invaluable, I only wish the group had started earlier, so that I could of met someone like myself, a year or so on, and know, everything’s going to be ok!
